Join wetland scientist John Rockwell, who has been training Conservation Commission members and their staff on how to delineate wetlands since 1989, as we dig into the dirt on a former farm turned conservation area. At this session you will be given copies of the “Pocket Guide to Describing and Documenting Soil Conditions” and the “Rockwell’s Pocket Guide to Hydric Soils for Wetland Delineations in Massachusetts.” We will start inside with an overview of these guides, then head outside to get our hands dirty. Bring a bag lunch to eat in the field, water, sharp pencil, clipboard, Munsell Color Book, and auger.
